Expressions of Interest

THE AUSTRALIAN CERAMICS TRIENNALE TASMANIA is looking forward to welcoming, in 2019, makers writers, thinkers, collectors, and ceramic enthusiasts of all stripes.

From 1–4 May, PW1 on the Hobart waterfront will be home to a rich and diverse program of lectures, demonstrations and exhibitions that will present an engaging snapshot of contemporary Australian ceramic practices and discourses within a global context.

Pre- and post-conference workshops, master-classes, exhibitions and kiln-firings around the state will provide further opportunity to learn new skills, continue discussions and expand our networks.

We want the world’s most inspiring practitioners from across the ceramic spectrum to engage our heads, hearts and hands. WE WANT YOU.

We want you – would-be presenters, demonstrators and curators – to submit your proposal in response to the themes HOLDING SPACE MAKING PLACE. Alternative perspectives, creative and non-conventional approaches are welcomed and encouraged.

Alongside the official program, we at TACTT are planning a host of extra-curricular activities to keep us rocking and mingling well into the evenings. To this end we’re also calling for performance artists, film-makers, rabble-rousers, the lunatic fringe and their ilk. SEND US YOUR IDEAS.

PRESENTERS: 20-minute slide/talk presentation

Please provide a one-page CV and a 500-word abstract, which will be peer-reviewed, with supporting images if applicable.

The vibrant art culture of Hobart provides us with a range of gallery spaces, from the heritage-listed to the contemporary white cube to the unconventional and unexpected. If you have an idea for an exhibition please provide a one-page CV, and a synopsis of the proposal along with enough images to give a sense of the look of the show. We’re keen to include a diversity of representation in materials, processes, practices and means of display, and welcome all suggestions.

No CV required. Send us your ideas. One page with images if relevant.

Renumeration: The TACTT committee is doing its best to balance registration fees with a strong commitment to making payments at appropriate levels to invited artists/presenters. There will be various forms of payment and or benefits offered, which will be negotiated on an individual basis, depending on input and logistical demands.
