The heritage-listed Pitchi Richi Sanctuary was the town’s first man-made attraction catering to the growth in central Australian tourism. Established in the early 1950s by Leo Corbet, who is considered by many as one of central Australia’s earliest conservationists, and home to over 20 William Ricketts sculptures, it is one of the town’s more unique historic attractions and is currently being restored by Heritage Alice Springs. Pitchi Rich will open its gates one sunny afternoon for The Australian Ceramics Triennale, don’t miss this rare opportunity to take a peek inside.
