CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS 

Expression of Interest: to exhibit in Clay Connections an exhibition of WA ceramics at Fremantle Arts Centre in Studio One,  October 3 - November 2 2025

Fremantle Arts Centre, the Ceramics Arts Association of WA and the Australian Ceramics Triennale invites members of community ceramic studios, teachers and students in Western Australian to submit a single work for selection in the Clay Connections exhibition at Fremantle Arts Centre.

 

Conceived as a library of 100 ceramic objects, Clay Connections will celebrate the diversity of the medium and its many manifest outcomes generated by a diverse community of artists in Western Australia. Displayed as an installation in Studio One, this exhibition will form a collection of works from artists young and old, from diverse backgrounds and experiences and at all levels of practice. 

 

Beyond its technical versatility, clay has deep ties to community, craft and place. It is a medium that fosters connection, be it through communal workshops, shared knowledge, or the stories and experiences embedded in the material itself. We are excited to explore how this community is shaping the future of the medium–as both a form of personal expression and as a means of fostering dialogue, community, and connection. 

 

We invite you to submit a work to be selected for display in this exhibition. 

 

Key Dates

• Submission of Google Form deadline: Thursday 7 August 2025

• Artists notified of selection by week of 25 August.

• Delivery to FAC September 15 - 17

• Pick up from FAC November 3 2025

 

Eligibility: 

• Open to all artists currently residing in Western Australia working with clay

• Submissions are for a single work that demonstrates the artist's approach to clay. 

• All works must be ready for display.

 

Conditions:

• Artists are responsible for delivering their artworks to and from FAC at times specified.

• Artworks must be no larger than 40 x 40 x 40cm

• Artworks will not be available for sale.

• 100 objects will be selected for display.
