Sentimental Ceramics is an exhibition of altered found ceramic items that expose those aspects of Western Australian history that are often overlooked. Spurred by a shared interest in the role of sentiment in framing history, Marian explores our colonial relationship to the environment by altering commercial collector plates whilst Louise coopts the traditions of china painting to explore the State’s performance as a Place for the tourist gaze.
